Lab assignment 3 (due Wednesday, Feb. 8)

Please read lab session 16 (pages 244-260 of SLBD) BEFORE coming to class
on Friday.

I.  Answer SAWA questions 1 through 6 (in complete sentences).

II.  Studies have shown that students taking more advanced math classes in high 
school have higher success at universities, as measured by university grade 
point average.  Someone says that requiring all high school students 
to take advanced math clearly will lead to greater college success for everyone.  
Comment on this statement.

III.  A study shows that cancer patients who are given heavy chemotherapy 
treatments die at a higher rate than those given light or no chemotherapy. 
Based on this association, are the doctors wrong to recommend chemotherapy?  
Explain why or why not.
