Lab assignment 9 (due Friday, Apr. 14) *** SLBD stands for the book "Statistics: Learning by Doing." *** *** SAWA stands for "Short Answer Writing Assignment" *** Please read lab session 14 (pages 208-222 of SLBD) BEFORE coming to class on Monday. I. Answer SAWA questions 1, 3-8 (in complete sentences where appropriate) in the lab book. (Be sure to use Table 14.2 for guidance in interpreting CIs.) II. In studies in which we are performing inferences about the difference in means between two treatments, often there needs to be a rest period, or "washout" period, between applying the first and second treatments. For example, in our lab session, the subject did not walk in both styles consecutively, but rested before walking in the second style. Give another example of a study in which a rest, or washout, period is necessary and explain briefly why it is needed.
